Approach

Inner/Outer; Depth/Heights; Whimsical/Practical. It’s all important.

Images, urges, intuitions, dreams, visions, and deep longings are all things to witness, honor and follow. I am a deep listener and help my clients to listen to their depths. I see my role as one who helps people release the “shoulds” of ego and enculturated roles to allow the truth of the image, their daimon/genius, soul emerge and lead.

And when needed, I am never afraid to call folks on their shit in service of their dreams. I’m committed to helping people do, make, and create in service of what the world needs.

My work with clients is informed by Jung’s approach to active imagination, James Hillman’s stance on the autonomy and intelligence of the image and daimon, and Ken Wilber’s Integral Philosophy approach to human development. My creative life is focused on writing, performing, and meaningful conversations.

Background:

I am a creative, seeker, and guide for others in search of their authentic selves.

I have a Master in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Jungian Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute (2004), but decided not to become a therapist. I am a certified life coach from Coaching Training Institute (2006), which allows me to help people focus on both their internal and external lives. Practicing Buddhist (Thich Nhat Hanh’s work mostly) for 20+ years. My coaching program, Women on the Verge, creates the structure and support my clients need in order to find a more fulfilling, meaningful, and successful next chapter in their lives.

My memoir, A Carlin Home Companion, was published by St. Martin’s Press in 2015 after developing my story through my one-person show for six years. I have a SiriusXM show where I interview legendary and up and coming comedians, and a podcast Waking from the American Dream that will be rebooted in 2022.
