A Brief Announcement!
Over the past 30 years, we’ve hosted our summer Introduction to Dream Tending Workshop right here in Santa Barbara, California. Each year, people have flown from all over the world to join us where we dive deeply into the healing power of dreams. With the current state of the world, we’ve decided to take that same program and make it available to you from the comfort of your own home. We’ve also added a level of interactivity that makes it extra special.
2020 Summer Dream Tending Online Workshop
Dream Tending is a life practice that healers, storytellers, and poets have known by many different names for thousands of years. Passed on through generations, the art of tending living dream images emerges when the call to see the natural world as alive becomes urgent.
Participants in this two-day Online workshop will build practical skills grounded in traditional and emerging methods of dreamwork.
The Dream Tending methods developed by Dr. Stephen Aizenstat builds on the methods of Association, Amplification, and Animation pioneered by Freud and Jung, and expanded upon by James Hillman and Marion Woodman.
Dream Tending puts animation into practice and allows us to experience dreams in their living, embodied reality. By hosting and tending relationships with the living images of dreams we discover new ways of experiencing life and achieve better psychological and physical health.
Workshop participants will:
- Learn how to remember dreams and examine recurring dream themes
- Practice dream tending skills with nightmares
- Reduce anxiety and fear in times of uncertainty
- Explore the multiple dimensions of psyche—the personal, collective, and world unconscious
- Animate dream images and form relationships with figures in dreams
- Discover how living images impact and inform our moods, behaviors, and perceptions
- Learn how dreams can support and improve physical and psychological health
BONUS: Given the extraordinary state of the world, Dream Tending is offering for the first time a new in-workshop personalized opportunity to Dream Share and to learn from each other in community. What does this mean?
Sign up for the 2020 Summer Workshop and you can submit your dream to us that is most “pressing” for attention, in either written or video form.. The length of a written dream can be up to 200 words, while the length of a video can be up to one minute. We welcome for you to express any form of dream from nightmares, night terrors to reocurring dreams.
In order for us to help you tend your dream more fully, you will need to submit the dream to Heidi at email@example.com before July 6th.
On the day of the workshop, you will be presented with some open ended questions and skilled dream tending facilitation for further inquiry. Dream themes will be discussed at the Workshop.
We look forward to sharing this unique experience designed to address together the many challenges we face individually and collectively in today’s times.
